The Sony Cybershot DSC W510 is the entry level pocket camera in the Sony range. It has 12 megapixels and a 4x wide angle zoom lens. The big attraction of this camera is ease of use. The Cybershot DSC W510 is aimed at someone that is looking for a simple point and shoot digital camera that will fit into a pocket.
12 megapixels is plenty for large size prints and you should certainly have no problem making prints of your holiday and social photography snapshots.
The 2.7 inch LCD screen is a little smaller than the current standard, but at this price point all cameras have to compromise here and there. Sony have included a feature called sweep panorama. This is a simple method for producing panoramic photos. You press the shutter button down and pan the Cybershot DSC W510 through an arc. The panoramic shot is then stitched together in camera.
Another feature worth mentioning is the inclusion of PMB portable software. This allows you to connect the Cybershot DSC W510 to any computer connected to the Internet so that you can upload your photos directly to photo sharing websites.
